Article: On the Penguins: Orpik, Crosby and Gonchar develop even more respect for each other after experience in Vancouver
They have been Sidney Crosby’s teammates for nearly five seasons now.
They have sweated and struggled and celebrated with him.
They have absorbed crushing disappointments together, and shared the greatest high their game can offer.
Article: Penguins rally for last five goals in 6-3 win
Could be that Dallas left winger Jamie Benn is a pretty easy guy to hate, once you get to know him.
That Matt Niskanen can be an absolute scoundrel, and that Nicklas Grossman brings out the worst in anyone who gets near him.
But, if any of that is true, the Penguins don’t know it.
Sid Turns Down Letterman?
The New York Post is reporting that Sid was invited to do the Top 10 on David Letterman while the Pens were in New York last week, but turned it down. Puck Daddy did their own Top 10 List of reasons why Sid may have turned them down. Personally I think it’s because he’s on Team Coco.
Article: Newcomers start as Pens beat Dallas, 6-3

The Penguins won their third game in a row, 6-3, over the Dallas Stars today at Mellon Arena.
They have not lost in regulation in their past six games.
The Penguins opened the scoring with a well-executed, rink-long play. Sergei Gonchar, from the end boards, threw a pass to Matt Cooke in front of the Penguins bench. He sent a touch pass to Jordan Staal cutting through the neutral zone. Staal caught up with the puck around the blue line for a breakaway.
With the Stars’ Jeff Woywitka sweeping at the puck from behind, Staal slid it under the stick of Dallas goaltender Kari Lehtonen to make it 1-0 at 2:11 of the first period.
Article: Fleury Rebounds With Solid Effort Against Stars

One of Marc-Andre Fleury’s strengths that makes him a top-flight netminder in the National Hockey League is his ability to come back strong following a less-than-stellar performance.
Fleury proved this yet again on Saturday afternoon stopping 27 of 30 shots in a 6-3 Penguins’ victory at Mellon Arena. His solid effort comes less than 48 hours after he was pulled against the New York Rangers on Thursday after surrendering four goals on 12 shots in 26:30 minutes.
“We always know that he bounces back,” captain Sidney Crosby said. “It’s going to happen. We all have tough nights, and unfortunately when you’re a goalie, every one kind of looks at you when you get pulled. He responds in the best way possible every time. There is no worry there, and he did it once again. He bounced back, and there was no question that he would.”
Offense Erupts as Penguins Pick Up Second-Straight Come-From-Behind Victory
It was comeback déjà vu as the Pittsburgh Penguins dominated the Dallas Stars, 6-3, after an initial two-goal deficit at the beginning of the second period at Mellon Arena Saturday afternoon.
The scenario was eerily familiar to Thursday night’s game against the New York Rangers when the Penguins battled back after being down 4-2 in the second period to clinch a 5-4 overtime victory.
“I feel like when they took the lead, 3-1, we were like, ‘OK, let’s start playing,’” Maxime Talbot said. “It was an early game. You try to look for your legs, but when they took the lead, we couldn’t allow that in our building. We started to play. You saw the real Penguins in the second half of the game, and that’s how we need to play.”
Aftermath: Penguins 6, Stars 3
